| FMP visits Kon Tum in the Central Highlands |
|
The Embassy of Israel, Dr Rafi Kot and the Family Medical Practice team set off on Thursday 25th May to visit the communes of Dak Rve District, Kon Tum. Family Medical Practice worked closely with the Peoples Committee of Kon Tum Province and the Fatherland Front to make this trip possible. The trip was organized to offer medical and dental care to the minority people of 7 communes. Through generous sponsorship from various companies and individuals we were also able to provide food, clothing, linen, toothbrushes, toys and other items to help meet basic needs. The trip was highly successful with all our staff commenting about how rewarding the trip was individually. We worked in 5 highly efficient teams who each visited the same commune during the course of the 3 days. In total we gave medical and dental care to 2531 adults and children. Two inaccessible communes were provided with food and other resources. As expected many of the people treated were suffering from malnutrition. Some of the communities we visited lacked sufficient resources to provide basic hygiene for themselves and their family. The medical problems we treated ranged from severe burns, skin diseases, chest infections, gastro intestinal infections, musculo-skeletal conditions and Tuberculosis. In the coming weeks we will have a newsletter devoted to our charity mission to The Central Highlands where we will give you a greater insight. For now we would like to say a big THANK YOU to the companies and individuals that made this worthwhile mission possible. |
