Importance of Insurance

(Created: March 3, 2010)

Importance of Having Insurance Coverage in Vietnam.
Whether you plan to live, work or travel in Vietnam for a few weeks or many years, medical insurance is essential to insure your health while in Vietnam.
Insurance cover for outpatient and inpatient services as well as evacuation and repatriation is important. There is a real challenge in the country in terms of access to appropriate emergency medical care facilities.  When the needs of injured or ill patients exceed what local clinics and hospitals can provide, an urgent medical evacuation by air to the nearest well-equipped medical facility in Thailand or Singapore becomes the key to preserving function and saving lives.
We recommend for you to arrange your medical insurance before you arrive in Vietnam. However, there are several reliable local insurance brokers in Hanoi and HCM City that sell internationally recognized insurance policies to companies and individuals.
