History

In 1994, the first Family Medical Practice clinic was opened in Hanoi by Dr. Rafi Kot, an Israeli physician who had arrived in Vietnam six years earlier to run healthcare projects for minority tribespeople in the nation’s remote northern areas.

Noting the opportunity for a foreign-operated private medical clinic, Dr. Kot stayed on to establish an operation that, over the next twenty years, expanded into multiple locations in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang—with more to follow. 2016 saw a further evolution of FMP’s services with the launch of Vietnam’s first true emergency medical response system, EMR *9999. FMP is the only private medical provider in Vietnam to offer such broad coverage.

During this time, Founder and General Director Dr. Rafi Kot has built a team of qualified medical practitioners, technicians, and other personnel ready to serve Vietnam’s local and expat communities. His dedication in time and energy, along with that of his team members, works toward providing excellence in medical diagnosis, care, and treatment to all the clinic’s patients.

Beyond the clinic itself, Dr. Rafi continues to work toward improving the lives of the nation’s underprivileged communities. On several occasions he has closed the clinics to lead his administrative staff and medical team on charitable trips to impoverished mountainous areas, in order to supply remote village communities with supplies and essential treatments.

FMP’s growing team of dedicated physicians specialize in emergency & evacuation medicine, general practice, women’s health, orthopedics, and pediatrics, among others. The practice is now one of the leading primary healthcare providers in Vietnam, providing a thoughtful, caring, and safe service on a 24/7 basis for all family members—from newborns to grandparents and everyone in between. We care about your health, and through our check-up and wellness programs, encourage and advise our patients to maintain a healthy, happy lifestyle.
