Biography
Dr. Mattias Larsson is a pediatrician, Medical Director of FMP and associated professor at Karolinska Institutet and honorary professor at Hanoi Medical University with special interest in infectious diseases with over two decades of experience in both Sweden and Vietnam.
He first arrived in Vietnam in 1997 to conduct research on child infections and antibiotic use and resistance. After completing his medical degree at Uppsala University and successfully defending his PhD in 2003 at Karolinska Institutet, Dr. Mattias divided his time between Sweden, where he worked as a physician in pediatrics and infectious diseases, and Vietnam, where he focused on medical training and research in developing countries.
Dr. Mattias’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Uppsala University and a Doctor of Medical Sciences (PhD) from Karolinska Institutet in International Health. Fluent in English, Swedish, German, Vietnamese, and conversational in Spanish, he brings a global perspective to his practice.
